Sayo's Poem is a Tanka poem made by Sayo Aisaka as part of a class activity in 1940.
Appearing only in the anime series, the poem is about Sayo's little sister planting silver-leaf flowers in the hope that, in doing so, their deceased mother would return to them.
Her tiny hands are,
planting silver-leaf so tender.
Patiently waiting for the bloom next November.
- Konoemon Konoe has shown to have memorised the poem and keeps a vase of silver-leaf flowers on his desk in memory of Sayo.
- The above rendition of the poem is as it is presented in the anime's English dub. The English subtitles, however, present the poem as follows:
Looking forward to when the time is nigh...
